Named for legendary Southeastern coach, Paul Laird Field has been the home to Savage and Savage Storm Football programs since the 1940's.
The time has come for a modernization of our on-campus stadium, and you can be a part of this transformation.
The University will complete Phase I of this project this spring, which includes a new artificial turf playing surface and installation of wrought iron fencing around the complex to compliment the video board which was installed last summer.
With an initial gift from Mike Herron, '95, Phase II has already begun. Southeastern has developed architectural drawings and renderings for replacement of the home bleachers with a 2,800-seat grandstand to include approximately 500 reserved chairback seats and a modern multi-level press box to include luxury suites and an elevator.
Phase II construction costs are estimated at $9.9 million, and the University will contribute $4.5 million toward this project.
The University has also received a $3 million gift from the Massey Family Foundation and First United Bank.
With this amazing gift the University is roughly $2.4 million away from making this project a reality!
To help us close this small gap, Mike Herron has pledged an additional amount of $50,000 as a challenge gift. Will you help us make the dream of a new home for Savage Storm Football a reality with a gift today?
There are still naming opportunities and opportunities for suite level gifts available by contacting Mark Webb at (580) 745-2361 or mwebb@se.edu.
